This is a luxurious course where you can run along the ancient Tokaido road connecting Tokyo and Kyoto, experiencing the legends and historical sites that remain in the region.
Starting from Kanaya, once a major post town, the route passes through a well-known pass with rich legends and historical sites, and continues towards the Nissaka district, which still retains traces of its past, including Kotonomama-Hachimangu Shrine, which is renowned for its unique power to fulfill wishes exactly as they are expressed.

Enjoying the legends and historical sites of the ancient 53 Stations of the Tokaido

Tokaido Stone-Paved Road

Stone-paved roads were laid with non-slip stones to make it easier to climb steep slopes. Some sections have been preserved as they were in the past, allowing visitors to experience the atmosphere of that time.

Kuonji Temple Night Crying Stone

A historical site associated with the 'Yonaki-ishi' (Night Crying Stone) legend, one of the most representative tales of the Tokaido. Here, you can experience the tragic story behind this famous legend.

Nissaka Post Town

Nissaka-juku, a former post town on the Tokaido. Based on historical maps, many old landmarks have been restored, and each house displays wooden signs with their traditional trade names, allowing visitors to experience the atmosphere of the Edo period.

Kotonomama Hachimangu Shrine

The shrine said to grant wishes exactly as they are expressed. Visitors can experience the unique ritual of 'stone polishing' that has been passed down at this shrine.

    3. We will have a support car available throughout this tour, which you can access our support car at certain points. You can also get in the car if you feel unwell or are in poor condition.
    4. We will serve you light food and drink (water or Japanese green tea) to help maintain better your running condition.
    5. You can leave your bags in our support car. However, you will need to manage your valuable items by yourself.
    6. During the tour, please follow the instructions of the guide.
    7. Be mindful not to enter private property or take photos of residents or private homes without permission.
